2034, new novel, Review

Posted January 15, 2010, 10:13 PM EST:
2034 is an excellent story, a fun read, filled with adventure, intrigue, and some interwoven spiritual insights. The characters are well developed, with a warm and humorous touch; the plot, while structurally simple, takes its twists and turns, inevitably leading to the tense, dangerous climax. It takes close attention while reading, as every event/element/item mentioned early in the book is not just gratuitous, not extraneous - they all come together in the final scene. Nothing is wasted. A nice, tightly crafted story that will leave the reader feeling good at the end. Even a little boy-girl romance, slowly evolved, to spice it up and round it out. A light, friendly humor pervades most of the book.
The publisher or retail website hasn't got around to providing a view the back cover (gives a short synopsis of the story) or an opportunity for the prospective buyer to read a few pages. For those who are interested, I will quote here what it says on the back cover:
"In the early years of this century, young Tom Dempsey, trying to escape family troubles, runs away from his home in the city. Reaching the safety of a nearby refuge, without warning, he is magically whisked away to an unknown world. "Awake in a strange land, Tom is puzzled by the new, untamed setting. Soon after meeting a boy named Jake Foxfoot, he arrives in a village bereft of modern-day comforts. He joins Jake's tribe, eager for adventure. Slowly, the secret of how and why he is there is revealed, but he's only barely settled in when trouble starts. "A hidden villain has contrived a plot to bring chaos to the primitive, peaceful village, hoping to gain power in the aftermath. Tom and Jake belatedly discover the scheme and try to defend the village before their people are ruined. "Will the boys survive what is sure to be a dangerous mission and restore peace to their village? Or will it be too late?"

Best wishes for an enjoyable reading, TW

2034

Greetings

An author has to use numerous ways to get his/her books to the public. If the publisher has all the marketing bases covered, so much the better. If not, the author must use any avenue available, such as this one. I hope you will find the brief details about my new book interesting and possibly worth looking into further, for example, a purchase at Barnes and Noble, Amazon, and others, via a Google search.

Thank you for your time in reviewing this blog,
